Create Golden Dot New Baby Announcement Card

birth announcement is the perfect way to let everyone in your circle know about your baby. It’s also an easy way to share photos and important information about your baby, and a photo baby announcement created on Snapfish is sure to delight your loved ones! After all, a picture is worth a thousand words so let your little one introduce him or herself to your friends and family with a big smile.

Including a photo in your new baby card allows you to keep your birth announcement wording short and sweet, as the focus will be on your baby’s big blue (or brown, green or grey) eyes. If you have chosen your favorite baby picture for your birth announcements but still haven’t decided what to write, take a look at our baby announcement text examples below.

What should I write in my new baby announcement card?

Create Hello Sweet One New Baby Announcement

In any birth announcement, new parents should include basic information about their newborn. Your loved ones will be dying to know the little details about your new baby so here is a guide to what you could include:

Parents’ names: Don’t forget about the proud big siblings, either— they will want to be a part of this very exciting time.

Baby’s name: This is your son or daughter’s first introduction into the big world (which definitely calls for a formal intro). This means including baby’s full name including any middle names. So your announcement should read “Josephine Mary Smith” instead of “Josie.”

Date, time and place of birth: Your loved ones want to know when to wish this new member of the family a happy birthday, and many new parents also like to include the time of birth along with the date, as it makes for a wonderful birth keepsake. An example would read: “Born at 4:53 am on 15th May, 2021 in Tampa Maternity Hospital.”

Weight + Height: These are the little details we all want to know. If you choose not to include the specifics, you can still reassure loved ones that mum and baby are healthy and doing well.

How to write the date on baby announcements

Create Bear Snuggle New Baby Announcements – no photo needed!

American Date Format: Day, Month Date, Year. E.g. Monday, January 13, 2021

International Date Format: Day, Date Month Year. E.g. Monday, 13th January 2021

We recommend including the day and the year on your baby announcements to turn them into beautiful little family keepsakes for your loved ones.

If you want to write out the date in words then only the day of the week and the month should be in capital letters. E.g. On Saturday, the sixteenth of August two thousand and twenty-one.

Who Receives A Birth Announcement?

new baby announcement is usually sent to relatives, close friends, and anyone who went to your baby shower. If you’re on a budget or don’t feel that you will have enough time to send a large number of formal announcements, you could send paper announcements to just your closest friends and relatives. Then, you could do an email or Facebook announcement to let everyone else know about your baby’s birth.

When To Send A Birth Announcement?

The ideal time to send out announcements is right after the baby is born. However, this is a very busy time for new parents, and if you can’t get the announcements out right away, that’s completely fine, as etiquette states that you have up to six months after the baby is born to send out your formal announcements.

If you aren’t going to send your announcements straight away, it’s a good idea to send a quick SMS out as soon as the baby is born to inform relatives about the baby’s arrival and that hopefully everyone is healthy and well.

Whether you opt to keep your new baby announcement cards simple, traditional or fun, we have a wide array of new baby card designs that will suit your new son or daughter.

The birth announcement message options are endless, so use our new baby messaging suggestions above as a handy guide and let your creative juices flow! We are sure your birth announcements will reflect the personalities of your growing family and we can’t wait to see them on our social media feeds. Remember, you can tag us @snapfishus or #snapfish on FacebookInstagramPinterest and even Twitter.
